About EEi

Our Story

Environmental Enforcement Investigations (EEI) was created to address the growing need for specialist investigation services in environmental compliance and enforcement. Building on decades of experience in public sector fraud investigation, EEI brings proven investigative techniques to tackle environmental crimes – often part of wider, organised criminal activity.

As environmental regulations become increasingly complex and enforcement more critical to public health and safety, EEI was developed to provide local authorities and environmental agencies with the specialist skills needed to investigate, evidence, and prosecute environmental offences effectively, and ensure criminals know that their actions will not be tolerated.

Our approach combines traditional investigative methods with cutting-edge monitoring techniques, ensuring comprehensive evidence gathering that stands up to legal scrutiny. We work in partnership with local authorities, environmental agencies, and other regulatory bodies to achieve compliance and protect communities from environmental harm.

Part of Public Sector Investigations (PSI)

EEI operates as a trusted brand within Public Sector Investigations (PSI) Ltd, a specialist group dedicated to public sector compliance and fraud prevention, with over 17 years of experience in working with local authorities. As part of PSI, EEI benefits from shared expertise, resources, and best practices across multiple enforcement disciplines while maintaining its focused mission on environmental enforcement.

PSI brings together complementary specialisms under one trusted roof, creating a comprehensive approach to public sector investigations. This structure allows EEI to leverage decades of combined experience in investigation and evidence gathering to develop robust environmental investigation methodologies.

PSI group’s unified approach means enhanced quality assurance, shared professional development, and the security that comes with being part of an established, financially stable organisation committed to long-term partnerships with public sector clients.

Our Team

EEI is made up of a team of highly skilled investigators with backgrounds in environmental law, regulatory compliance, and traditional investigation techniques. Our professional team understand how to investigate, collect, and present evidence to resolve environmental crime and achieve regulatory compliance.

We carry out an extensive interview process with each person and our selection process is exceedingly difficult so that we ensure that we always identify and hire those with the detailed insight and backgrounds needed to spot and investigate environmental breaches. All of our investigators are annually DBS checked, and subject to financial background checks as well as being subject to formal references.

Our team includes specialists with experience in environmental monitoring, regulatory frameworks, and legal procedures, as well as investigators with backgrounds in the police, local authorities, and environmental agencies.
We pride ourselves on being transparent and holding ethical values. All our investigators and employees work with a range of policies and processes ensuring safe, professional, and ethical practice. All our policies are available for inspection.
