Simpson had advertised his waste disposal service on social media, taking money from homeowners who trusted him to dispose of their rubbish legally. Instead, he fly-tipped their waste in Eckington, in March 2024. A member of the public spotted him in the act, leading to his vehicle registration being recorded and evidence traced back to him.
Real Consequences, Real Results
North East Derbyshire District Council didn’t just issue a fine – they built a proper case. Simpson initially denied three charges of illegal dumping and operating without correct waste documentation, but was found guilty at trial and sentenced at Northern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court.

- £4,409.21 in costs
- £140 compensation to the two victims who paid for his “services”
